The Young Authors Workshop is geared toward youth from Kindergarten through 5th grade.
Dive into the fantastic world of storytelling at our upcoming workshop for young authors! Get ready to supercharge your storytelling chops with tools and tricks that'll help you whip up captivating tales, develop unforgettable characters, and even dabble in illustrations! This workshop is led by the amazing, Amy Dua, a local author extraordinaire. By the end, you'll not only have your very own book but will officially join the ranks of cool authors everywhere!
Grades K-2nd will be spending three weeks creating a short story book - a choose your own adventure, fairy tale. Then, the last week they will bind their own book.
Grades 3rd-5th will be spending four weeks creating their own graphic novel that they will be able to take home with them.
The workshop will be held at the St Johns Middle School media center on March 5, 12, 19, and 26.

The Newspaper/Journalism Workshop is geared toward youth in 6th through 8th grade.
Workshop will be March 5, 12, 19, and 26
Grades 6th-8th will be from 3:00-4:15PM
Students will work together to create their own newspaper that will be available at businesses throughout the community and Briggs District Library! Now is the chance to show off your skills. Whether you are a sports lover, a photographer, an environmentalist, a journalist, an artist, a puzzle creator, etc…we are looking for you! Come enjoy this unique opportunity to get published in your own community!
All writing programs will be led by local author/illustrator, Amy Dua.
