VITA Tax Prep Services - VITA Tax Prep Services The VITA program has operated for over 50 years. VITA sites offer free tax help to people who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns, including:
People who generally make $69,000 or less
Persons with disabilities; and
Limited English-speaking taxpayers
While the IRS manages the VITA , the VITA sites are operated by IRS partners and staffed by volunteers who want to make a difference in their communities. The IRS-certified volunteers who provide tax counseling are often retired individuals associated with non-profit organizations that receive grants from the IRS. The IRS-certified tax prepaper will help you get the tax credits you qualify for, including Earned Income Tax Credit, Home Heating Credit, and the Homestead Property Tax Credit. The mobile unit is able to process three sets of tax returns per hour, so once you have registered for this service, we will reach out to you to schedule your time for that day.
